Makeup Puff Precautions

Keep it clean and wash it regularly: Makeup puffs accumulate foundation, oil, sweat, and dead skin cells, creating a breeding ground for bacteria. It is recommended to wash them 1-2 times a week. For oily skin or frequent use in summer, it is recommended to wash them every 3-4 days; for dry skin or infrequent use, once a week is sufficient.

Proper washing method: Use makeup remover, facial cleanser, or neutral shampoo, add warm water, rub thoroughly, and rinse thoroughly. Avoid wringing dry; gently press with a towel to absorb water, then lay flat to air dry in a cool place.

Avoid using new makeup puffs directly: Although they are packaged during production, there may still be dust or residue. It is recommended to wash them with water or a mild detergent before first use.

Dry or wet use matters: When applying liquid foundation, dampen the puff, squeeze out the excess water, and then use it. This allows for more even application and prevents caking. When setting makeup, you can use a dry puff to gently press and help control oil and set makeup. Apply makeup in small amounts multiple times: Use about half the size of the powder puff each time, pressing it in layers to avoid applying too much at once, which can result in a heavy or clumpy makeup look.

Replace promptly: Replace the powder puff immediately if it becomes deformed, cracked, develops an odor, or retains dirt after washing. It is recommended to replace it every 3-6 months, especially silicone puffs which are more prone to accumulating dirt.

Special note for sensitive skin: If you have wounds, acne, or sensitive skin, it is recommended to use disposable sponges or powder puffs to avoid cross-infection.

Use separate tools: It is recommended to prepare at least two powder puffs for alternating use, making them easy to clean and dry, and preventing bacterial growth due to sluggish drying.
